What basic elements should we consider when choosing a high-pressure reactor? Let's discuss in detail here. These basic points must be taken into account, namely volume, pressure, kettle material, agitator type (including agitator blade selection), kettle material, heating method, etc.

1. Firstly, determine the required volume of the high-pressure reactor. See if it's for production or experimental needs. Production type high-pressure reactors generally have a relatively large volume, mostly above 100L, and most experiments use below 10L.

2. Next is the operating pressure required for the high-pressure reactor to be ordered. If it is only used for reaction under normal pressure conditions and does not generate high pressure during the reaction process, a low-pressure reactor can be selected. There is no need to choose a high-pressure reactor, as high-pressure reactors generally have higher manufacturing costs and prices than low-pressure reactors. If high-pressure reaction conditions are required and high pressure is generated during the reaction process, stainless steel or high-pressure resistant reaction vessels must be selected, and the appropriate vessel body should be chosen according to the actual pressure used.

3. To clarify the two characteristics of the reactants, viscosity and acidity. The viscosity of the reactants is the determining factor in choosing the type of high-pressure reactor agitator. If the viscosity of the reactants is relatively high, the agitator with a larger stirring torque needs to be selected, otherwise the agitator with a smaller torque needs to be selected. The acidity or alkalinity of the reactants determines the choice of material for the reactor body, and Huotong Instrument has many acid and alkali resistant reactor body materials to choose from.

4. It is also important to consider the heating method of the reaction kettle. The general heating methods for high-pressure reactors include electric heating, jacket heat transfer oil heating, jacket circulating water heating, etc. When choosing a heating method, we should determine it according to the actual requirements for the reaction temperature. Different heating methods can achieve different maximum temperatures, have different temperature holding effects, and have different temperature change amplitudes.
