World-Advanced: Weihai Chemical Machinery's Core Equipment Drives Record-Low Unit Consumption in Sorbitol Production

The project was jointly developed by Zhaoqing Huanfa Biotechnology Co., Ltd., South China University of Technology, Weihai Chemical Machinery Co., Ltd., and other institutions. It has successfully solved the three major challenges of safety, energy consumption, and efficiency in the high-pressure hydrogenation production of sorbitol, and achieved breakthroughs in five core key technologies. Among them, the high-efficiency self-priming stirring technology was fully independently developed by Weihua CM, serving as the key to improving hydrogenation efficiency and ensuring stable operation.

 

The technology adopts non-contact magnetic coupling transmission, achieving static sealing and zero leakage during the stirring operation. Particularly for extreme working conditions such as high temperature, high pressure, high toxicity and explosion risk, it completely eliminates the risk of small-molecule hydrogen permeation and leakage from the source, and firmly consolidates the bottom line of safe production.

 

With proprietary patented technology, hydrogen dispersion is more sufficient and the gas-liquid-solid three-phase mixing is more uniform, significantly improving reaction rate and raw material utilization efficiency.

Relying on mature technologies, we have simultaneously promoted the serialized design of large-volume hydrogenation reactors of 30m³, 43m³ and 60m³. We have successfully broken foreign monopolies and achieved full localization of large-volume high-pressure hydrogenation equipment, providing key equipment support for large-scale, low-cost production in the industry.

 

  • Catalyst consumption has been reduced to 0.19 kg per ton of product, and unit energy consumption per ton is lowered by 10%, achieving the lowest unit consumption in the industry.

 

  • Single reactor reaction time is shortened from 130 minutes to 90 minutes, raising production efficiency by 30%.

 

  • Product conversion rate has increased from 97% to over 99%, delivering more stable and reliable product quality.
