Technical Breakthrough in High-End Reactors Boosts CO₂-to-Plastics Project
Recently, Weihai Chemical Machinery Co., Ltd. has completed and delivered 14 sets innovative magnetic drive reactors capable of ultra-high torque operation under extreme temperature and pressure conditions. Developed over two years in collaboration with leading technical partners, these reactors feature a record-breaking torque output of 59,000 N·m - nearly triple the previous industry maximum (the previous peak value in the industry was ≤20,000 N·m ).
The equipment will serve as the core processing units for a groundbreaking CO₂-to-biodegradable plastics project. This engineering achievement represents a significant advance in high-performance chemical manufacturing technology while supporting global efforts to reduce carbon emissions through industrial innovation.
The CO₂-to-biodegradable plastics process imposes extreme demands on reaction equipment: long-term, leak-free operation under high temperature, pressure, torque, and intense mass/heat transfer conditions-requirements beyond the capabilities of traditional mechanical seals.
Through two years of coordinated R&D with industry partners, Weihai Chemical Machinery resolved critical international challenges including high-torque magnetic drive design, specialized material application in extreme environments, and high-efficiency mixing systems. The resulting reactor achieves a world-leading torque output of 59,000 N·m, enabling efficient mixing of high-viscosity materials and ensuring high-quality production in complex chemical processes.
